History
The Knottwood Community League was formed on March 14th, 1977, at a meeting in Satoo Elementary School where the residents resolved to provide programs and facilities for their three neighbourhoods – Ekota, Satoo and Menisa. Early on, Knottwood gained a reputation of an achiever. Its financial resources, which started at $65, were at a hefty total of $86,000 only eight months later!
In the fall of 1977, Knottwood purchased a second-hand building from the Delton Community League for $5,000. By the time that the building was renovated its value increased to $60,000 and it was established as the Satoo Community Center. Knottwood continued to fund raise and contribute to the community.
