Edmonton Transit
|
ETS began when the Edmonton Radial Railway traveled its first streetcar route along 21 kilometres of track in the fall of 1908.
Today, Edmonton Transit's fleet encompasses over 750 diesel and trolley buses, and 26 community buses. The system covers more than 140 routes, including a Light Rail Transit (LRT) system with 37 vehicles and 10 stations. ETS also offers transportation to persons with disabilities, called the Disabled Adult Transit Service (DATS).
On a typical day, ETS carries about 12 per cent of Edmonton's population, or 74,000 people.
