History
The Woodvale Community League was formed on June 23rd, 1980, during
a meeting held in the Lee Ridge Elementary School. Much like its neighbours,
the League’s first priority was the establishment of adequate
parks and recreational facilities for its growing population. It was
soon involved in a number of other issues that ranged from barring the
establishment of an arcade, to supporting the development of local schools.
Along the years, Woodvale donated extensively to various projects, some
within and others outside their League area. Most in the latter category
were in relations to MCARFA’s numerous capital projects on behalf
of the larger community of Mill Woods.
